  • Exterior brownstone from East Longmeadow, MA

  • Stained glass windows from Munich, Germany

1900s

The parish continued to grow and welcome immigrant Catholics to this area of the city.  The youth were educated in the parish school; a religious education program for all ages continues to this day.  In the mid-1960s, the highways surrounding the church were constructed.  Despite changes to the neighborhood brought by this, the pastoral care provided by Father George Farland and Father Hugh Crean ensured ongoing growth and vitality.

In the 1970s, the Spanish Apostolate was established and now has a home in 12 parishes throughout the Diocese of Springfield.

Today

The Monsignor Farland Center, dedicated during the 150th Anniversary Year of the parish, is used for religious education; Over 60 Club gatherings; outreach to the wider community, including daily meetings for those in recovery; as well as parish events throughout the year.

Msgr. George Farland and Msgr. Christopher Connelly serve as co-pastors of the parish, with the assistance of Deacon William Kern and a dedicated staff.

The daily Mass at 5:15 PM draws parishioners and visitors from the city and beyond, as do the weekend Masses, highlighted elsewhere on this website.
